Vegan Sweet and Spicy Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Most people have probably heard of sweet cranberry sauce, but as you know, the Caavakushi team loves to mix things up a bit. That’s why we have been busy experimenting with flavours and have come up with a sauce that will blow your mind and taste buds: our very own vegan sweet & spicy cranberry sauce recipe.
Vegan Sweet and Spicy Cranberry Sauce Recipe Ingredients
- 1 bag (12 ounces) of fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 cup of vegan coconut sugar
- 1/2 a cup of orange juice
- Zest of one orange
- 1/2 a teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or any other chili pepper you prefer to substitute for cayenne pepper (remember to adjust the spicy level to your taste)
Vegan Sweet and Spicy Cranberry Sauce Recipe Instructions
- Rinse the cranberries and remove any stems or leaves.
- In a saucepan, combine cranberries, vegan coconut sugar, orange juice, and orange zest.
- Add ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and cayenne pepper, or your chili pepper substitute for cayenne pepper
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens (about 10-15 minutes).
- Taste and adjust the sweetness or spiciness if necessary.
- Remove it from the heat and let it cool before serving.
