Tesco and Asda both have there own vegan cheeses that melt. I know that Violife cheese doesn't really melt.

I haven't tried applewood brand, will certainly pick it up on my next grocery shop.

If you can find it, Parmela Creamy has the most realistic vegan Gouda (flavour and texture) that I've come across. So good that I use it in place of mozza and cheddar for many dishes.
